The talk, organized by our Vocational School Active and Healthy Aging Community, addressed meaningful topics such as independence, social participation, and active roles during the elderly period as part of the October 1st World Elderly Day.

During the event organized by the Community Academic Advisor Assist. Prof. Dr. Sultan Kılıç, it was emphasized that the elderly period is an important life stage that is not limited to physical changes; it also encompasses the individual's social, psychological, and societal life.

In the talk, which saw intense participation from students, evaluations were made on how elderly individuals can maintain their independence in daily life, actively participate in social life, and continue their productivity and societal roles. Additionally, the importance of supporting elderly individuals as active, valuable members of society who participate in decision-making processes was highlighted.

Throughout the event, mutual interaction was facilitated through students' views and questions, aiming to raise awareness about the role of social participation and independence in enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals.

The talk held as part of the October 1st World Elderly Day aimed to increase students' awareness of the aging process and contribute to developing a holistic perspective in the care services they will provide to elderly individuals in the future.

The event concluded after active participation from students and mutual evaluations.
