The Social Services Program Students Organized a Technical Trip to Antalya Children's Homes Site

Our Vocational School Social Services Program students conducted a technical trip to the Falez Children's Homes Site, affiliated with the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services, on December 11, 2025, to contribute to their professional development. A total of 40 students participated in the trip. 

The technical trip was organized under the coordination of Instructor Özge Kutlu and Instructor Recep Gümüş.  During the visit, students had the opportunity to examine service models in the field of child welfare on-site. A significant portion of the students encountered a professional social service environment for the first time, directly observing the relationship between social service specialists and applicants, institutional processes, and the practical applications of professional roles. 

During the visit, detailed information was obtained from officials about the daily life arrangements of children staying in children's homes, psychosocial support processes, and internal institutional practices. The information provided regarding social service interventions for children at risk of delinquency and substance use significantly contributed to the students' professional awareness. 

Thanks to the technical trip, students had the opportunity to learn by observing fundamental social service concepts such as child welfare, combating addiction, delinquency, professional ethics, privacy, empowerment approach, and trauma-informed care in the field. This experience was evaluated as strengthening the students' professional perspectives and significantly contributing to the practices they will carry out in the future.
