Objectives
To train professionals who have adopted the concepts and principles related to the subject; who base their work on universal scientific and educational values; who can transfer their theoretical knowledge into practice; who can fulfill the requirements of their profession professionally; who are knowledgeable about the basic characteristics, care, and needs of elderly individuals; who possess the equipment to provide treatment, support, and rehabilitation services; who approach people with love, respect, tolerance, and patience; and who have a creative and holistic perspective, in a way that they can work in institutions providing elderly care services.
Goals
The main aim of the Elderly Care Technician program is to train equipped professionals who can provide qualified and professional care services to elderly individuals with ethical awareness and human and social values.
Today, in our country and around the world, it is aimed to train competent individuals who can work in public institutions, private sector, and non-governmental organizations, who can effectively implement and develop elderly care services in response to the rapidly increasing elderly population.
The program aims to contribute to the students' development as professionals with high awareness of the needs of the elderly, who internalize the necessary knowledge, skills, and values related to elderly care, and who have a high sense of professional responsibility.
Additionally, training personnel who can provide home care services for elderly individuals who prefer to continue their lives in their own homes, with high awareness and professional qualifications, is also among the program's priorities.
